Transportation
Train
Daily Amtrak trains run north connecting Carbondale and Chicago and south connecting Carbondale and New Orleans. The Carbondale Amtrak station is located approximately a 1/2 mile north of campus.
Plane
Veterans Airport in Marion, 15 miles east of Carbondale, provides regional airline service. Flights connect Marion to St. Louis Lambert International Airport. If flying into St. Louis, you can rent a car at the airport and drive to Carbondale, approximately 115 miles or 2 hours away. Also, the BART Shuttle is a privately owned van service that connects the airport to Carbondale.
Campus Bus
Saluki Express connects various destinations on campus and off campus in the town of Carbondale.
Lodging
A variety of low- and high-budget lodging accommodations are available in and near Carbondale.
